Volunteering at Ix Park every Thursday evening, 5-7pm. Canvassing from there, as well as postcard writing and phoning for Dem candidates. We cannot emphasize enough how beneficial these person-to-person contacts are while canvassing–your friendly face is your most valuable tool for persuading others to vote!
More Canvassing for Abigail: Saturday, July 19, 10am–1pm, and 1–4pm, leaving from 2407 Jefferson Park Avenue. Sign up here.
Remembering John Lewis: “Good Trouble Lives On,” Thursday, July 17, Booker T. Washington Park, 4:45-5:45pm. Personal reflections, songs, and signs (hosted by Indivisible Charlottesville). Also check out: NAACP showing of John Lewis “Good Trouble” documentary at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6-8pm, or People’s Summer Activist Series, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 6-8pm.

On Wednesday, July 2, longtime Crozet resident and retired U.S. Army officer Paul Riley formally announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026, for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District. Paul is a pro-business moderate, focusing on restoring economic security, and making government work for working Americans, not just the wealthiest. A Bronze Star Awardee, he aims to protect earned benefits and healthcare for all, and will help veterans receive the support they have earned.
Soon another candidate will be announced. Stay tuned!
