Another way to get involved is to join active committees. Here are some committees that need more volunteers to help do their important work:
Communications — Help with our social media, biweekly newsletter, website, and/or community engagement initiatives. Please contact communications@cvilledems.org for information.
Voter Registration — Since 2019 Suzanne Michels has been organizing a great team of volunteers doing in-person voter registration (Barbara Shenefield coordinating Saturday tents at the IX Market, others tabling at various stores and hot spots around town). It’s working: their crew has signed up over 730 new local voters who went on to cast ballots! If you don’t want to do in-person you can help with follow-up, to make sure the new voters know when and where to vote. Please contact Suzanne Michels at if you’d like to help once the weather warms.
Voter Protection — Democrats win when all citizens can vote without obstacles or intimidation! If you care about protecting our democracy (small-d) and aren’t intimidated by the technical details and legalese of voter protection regulations, participating on this committee puts you in the room where things are happening; being a poll observer, doing fair election advocacy at the state level, and generally supporting and amplifying voter protection and voter education efforts. Fundraising — Please contact Nancy Damon if you might be interested in helping out (e.g. brainstorming fundraising ideas)
