Tom Perriello
The Democratic Party nominee running to unseat incumbent Republican John McGuire in Virginia Congressional District 5, Perriello seeks election because “Washington is making it harder for families to afford the American dream, [and] our communities deserve a trusted leader who’s proven that he will fight for the people over the powerful,” as stated on his website. “Tom Perriello has spent 25 years winning tough fights — taking on corporate lobbyists, electric utility monopolies, and the Trump administration – and pushing for our country to go bigger and be bolder to deliver results that bring down costs, raise paychecks, and protect our democracy.”
Senator John Warner
Incumbent Democratic Senator John Warner is running against Republican challenger Bert Mizusawa. As stated on Senator Warner’s website, “Mark has worked tirelessly to strengthen America’s economy and solve problems for Virginia families. He spearheaded the largest infrastructure investments in half a century, significantly expanded Virginia’s domestic manufacturing, and has fought to lower health care costs. In 2021, Mark became Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, where he has emerged as a key leader in protecting the highest levels of America’s national security.”
