More than 300 women showed up at a standing-room-only rally to learn more about campaigning for Kamala Harris, Tim Kaine, and Gloria Witt. Witt took the stage at the “Women for Harris” event and magnified the excitement. Local Dem activist and longtime veteran of many campaigns Ella Jordan and other Dems also spoke and generated enthusiasm.
We’re hoping to see some of these women, and you, at our “Turn Out the Vote Thursdays” at Ix Park and other events where we canvass and phone bank and take action in other ways; browse through some of the posts above to see how you might plug in to our efforts to elect Dems (Vice President Harris, Senator Kaine, and Gloria Witt) and save democracy.

Drop by Ting Pavilion on Saturday September 21 between 1-10pm for Cville Sabroso 2024, the local Latino community’s 12th annual heritage festival celebrating the richness and vibrant diversity of Latin American culture. There’ll be nine hours of live music and lively dance performances, food, artisan crafts, and interactive activities for kids that will immerse you in the warmth and hospitality of Latino communities. It’s one of the biggest family-friendly events in Charlottesville, and your presence will help support Sin Barreras (“Without Barriers”), the Charlottesville/Waynesboro nonprofit that advocates for immigrants (mostly Latino) and organizes the festival. We will have a booth there too! Tickets (kids under 12 are free) are available here. For Sabroso 2024 details and pictures visit the Cville Sabroso Facebook event page, or for background information visit the Sin Barreras Cville Sabroso website page.
