The Charlottesville Democratic Committee is offering political internships in the months leading up to the November ‘24 election. This program will provide Interns with a meaningful political experience while greatly benefiting the work of Cville Dems. The stipend will be $150/week for a minimum of 10 hours/week.
There are 3 main Internship focuses: digital communications, field work, and youth engagement.
If you’re interested, or know people who may be, please contact Josh Throneburg (joshuathroneburg@gmail.com) or Nancy Damon (nancycdamon@gmail.com).

We’ll postpone our kickoff of Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Thursdays at Ix Park until Thursday, July 11, 5-7pm.
Because the Coordinated Campaign will be having their Office Opening and Debate Watch Party on Thursday, June 27, 7:30 to 11:00 pm (see above), and because the following Thursday is the Fourth of July, we decided to postpone.
Hopefully, we will be meeting every Thursday thereafter through Thursday, Oct. 31. On July 11, we will be all set to go with canvassing, phone banks, text banks, and postcard writing. Please plan to join us on the lawn outside of Brazos Tacos on July 11. Since the picnic bench can fill up fairly quickly, please bring a blanket or chair to sit on the grass.
Postcard writing is an expensive undertaking! If you can contribute to the cost of printing and stamps, please do so by going to our Act Blue Page and clicking on postcards and stamps: https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/charlottesville-democratic-committee-1

On Monday, June 24, we’ll have our next Full Committee meeting at 6:30pm at one of the shelters in Forest Hills Park.
In addition to talking about our activities for the upcoming election, we’ll have representatives from Sin Barreras, an advocacy organization which works with the Latino Community. AND we will serve Mexican popsicles from La Flor Michoacana, which is a good reason to come in itself!
This is an open meeting so please invite friends.

Our Cville Dems co-chairs say:
Dear Dems,
Thank you all for braving the heat to spread the word about our candidates on Primary Day. Gloria Tinsley Wittwas the overwhelming winner for Democrats.
Congrats and best wishes to Gloria, who won a hard-fought primary race to run against a Trump-backed candidate for the 5th District congressional seat.
We’re with you all the way to Capitol Hill!
Those interested in supporting Gloria may donate: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/witt4congress
GOP’s Bob Good and John McGuire’s tallies are so close, we wonder if they’ll ask for a recount. That would be great, as it will tie them up in wrangling with each other rather than working to get elected.
If you have tents, tables, and/or the box/tub for your precinct, please return it to Nancy Damon’s front porch ASAP (so the Damons don’t get cited for having so much stuff on their porch!)

A big thanks you to our state delegate Katrina Callsen, as well as to Jason Melendez and Roy Carter, for registering voters at the Juneteenth Celebration last Saturday!
If you’d like to help with this important effort to increase the Democratic voting potential in Cville, please contact Suzanne Michels at suzemichels@gmail.com.
