We had a great turnout on March 10 for our first “Democracy on Tap” event, the new Cville and Albemarle Democrats monthly speaker series get together (held at Kardinal Hall on the first Sunday of each month at 3:30pm).
Miles Coleman from Sabato’s Crystal Ball provided lots of helpful insights about past and upcoming elections and answered many great questions. The energy in the room was palpable among the roughly 75 people who attended. Photos below. A big shout out to Kardinal for their generosity hosting the event! And before the event, a large group of 25 excited volunteers showed up for the voter registration orientation led by Suzanne Michels. Our April speaker (Sunday 4/7 at 3:30) will be Sterling Howell, Programs Manager of the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society. Sterling will describe the changing role of the society since its founding in 1940, and discuss the value of local history and why it should be supported in our time when history, books, and other institutions are under attack.
