Game On: Tom Perriello Will Face Robert Hurt in November
The race for the 5th district seat has begun. The Republicans have nominated state Sen. Robert Hurt, who has already shown what kind of campaign he intends to run by his first hire: Chris LaCivita, the same Republican operative who famously orchestrated the "Swift Boat" campaign against John Kerry and who has also worked for Virginia favorites Ken Cuccinelli and George Allen. Sen. Hurt is a nice man, but he has hired the nastiest of political operatives to play dirty and personal, and we must be ready to fight back with truth and people-powered, conviction politics. This campaign will not just be a choice between different candidates; it will also pit solutions and substance up against smear and soundbytes.
We have to defend Tom and the 5th district seat against "Swift Boat" tactics. Can you stand up for him and make a contribution of $25, $50, or $100?
