COMMUNITY EVENT: Cville Sabroso Festival — September 21

Cville Dems will have a table there. The day promises nine hours of live music and lively dance performances, food, artisan crafts, and interactive cultural activities for kids. Immerse yourself in the warmth and hospitality of Latino communities at this family-friendly event.

The U.S. Democracy Day collaborative got its start ahead of the midterms in 2022. It launched as an effort to encourage news organizations across the country to report more — and better— information about the crisis facing democracy here.

THE GOAL: DRAW ATTENTION TO THE CRISIS AND HOW INDIVIDUALS CAN RESPOND

Democracy Day is an effort to draw attention to this crisis, provide the public with the context and information they need, and bring all types of people and media together to sound the alarm collectively.

Cville Sabroso Latin-American Cultural Festival at Ting Pavilion (9/21)

Date+Time+Location are given (September 21, 1-10pm, Ting Pavilion) and at the bottom are scenes of stylized people dancing in both modern and traditional attire.Drop by Ting Pavilion on Saturday September 21 between 1-10pm for Cville Sabroso 2024, the local Latino community’s 12th annual heritage festival celebrating the richness and vibrant diversity of Latin American culture. There’ll be nine hours of live music and lively dance performances, food, artisan crafts, and interactive activities for kids that will immerse you in the warmth and hospitality of Latino communities. It’s one of the biggest family-friendly events in Charlottesville, and your presence will help support Sin Barreras (“Without Barriers”), the Charlottesville/Waynesboro nonprofit that advocates for immigrants (mostly Latino) and organizes the festival. We will have a booth there too! Tickets (kids under 12 are free) are available here.
