Here is a list of the Democratic candidates you may see on the primary election ballot in June. They need to be officially qualified to be on the ballot (see paperwork processing article above).
Governor: former Rep. Abigail Spanberger.
Lieutenant Governor: Alex Bastiani, attorney and former local union president; Carl Eggleston, Farmville business owner and former Town Council member; state Sen. Ghazala Hashmi of Chesterfield; Babur Lateef, Prince William County School Board Chair; State Sen. Aaron Rouse; Levar Stoney, former Richmond Mayor; Victor Salgado, attorney and former Justice Dept. prosecutor.
Attorney General: Jay Jones, former VA delegate; Shannon Taylor, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Henrico County.
Three special elections were held on Jan. 7 for two VA Senate seats and one House of Delegates seat. In all three cases the party that previously held the seats retained them, so the Dems retained overall control of both chambers.

There’s a special election for John McGuire’s empty State Senate 10th District seat. The Democratic candidate is Jack Trammell, and the campaign will soon have postcards to be sent.
