In 130 Days We’ll Nominate a President – Do You Want to be Involved?

Posted on April 16, 2024

We’ll have a brief full Cville Dems meeting followed by a Caucus in Charlottesville on Monday, April 22, in the Swanson Room, Central Library branch (explained below). Doors will open at 6pm, followed by the meeting 6:30-6:50pm. Registration for the Caucus will begin at 7:00pm, and the Caucus will begin at 7:30pm.

The Caucus is an event to elect Charlottesville delegates and alternates to attend both the Fifth Congressional District Democratic Convention (May 18 in Fluvanna County) and the DPVA State Convention (June 22 in Richmond). If you’d like to be elected as a Charlottesville delegate or alternate, you must pre-file (see article just below).

We need to elect 14 delegates plus three alternates at the Caucus – yes, we need 17 people to volunteer for this important Democratic representation of Charlottesville at both the Fifth District convention and the DPVA State convention in Richmond. Delegates must attend both conventions. It’s satisfying and enjoyable to be part of this political process, which goes all the way to determining the next President and Vice President.

Read more information in the formal Call to Caucus, which is on the Cville Dems website here.

A line sketch of the US Capitol Building in Washington, DCGet to know the three Fifth District US Congressional Democratic candidates for the June 18 Primary Election. The election is for the US Senate and House of Representatives.

Our VA-05 House of Representatives candidates are:

Paul Riley:         https://paulrileycongress.com/

Gary Terry:         https://garyterryforcongress.com/

Gloria Witt:         https://www.gloriawittforcongress.com/

The Senate candidate is our incumbent Senator Tim Kaine. Go, Tim!

And of course, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are running hard against Trump for the White House and American democracy — not demagoguery — for all.

Everybody vote! Early voting will be May 6 through June 15.

Here are new ads from the President Biden 2024 campaign. Time to put our collective flags up and also to remind people exactly what Trump has done to banish rights for American women:
