We Need Canvassers!

Posted on August 18, 2024

A woman standing in her front doorway is talking with another woman who has come by to canvass her neighborhood.

There’s a big need for canvassers this election season:

  • Every Saturday: 10 am, 1pm, and 4pm
  • Every Sunday: 1pm and 4pm

We meet at the Coordinated Campaign Office, 1410 Incarnation Dr., Suite 203.

Canvassers are trained at the Charlottesville Democratic Coordinated Campaign Office (1410 Incarnation Dr., Suite 203) and leave from there to knock on doors – a high-priority activity right now!

The Harris-Walz and Kaine campaigns are working from this office until the election, and we will work there, too, to get Gloria Witt elected and vanquish John McGuire’s campaign.

“The “field” team at the Harris/Kaine/Witt office (Charlie and Jack) will train you, set you up with a great list of doors to knock, all on your (charged up!) cell phone, and give you a paper map and candidate literature (to get your canvass going more quickly, retrieve your Apple ID, which you’ll need in order to download the MiniVan app, before you go).

So come by, volunteer, and join our successful election this season!

Get to know Gloria Witt, Our Fifth District Candidate

Posted on August 18, 2024

Gloria Witt campaigns July 3, 2024, shaking hands with a person in Bedford, VA

Things to know about Gloria:

  • She grew up working on her family’s farm in Amherst, VA, and learned to drive a tractor at age 14. Her family encouraged her to pursue higher education.
  • After saving her farming money and buying a car for transportation, she went to college, with the encouragement of her family.
  • She earned a degree in Communications and Economics from Randolph College.
  • Gloria had a 32-year career with global energy company, Framatome, in Lynchburg.
  • She is using her time and energy during retirement to help others through NAACP and the Central Virginia Academy for Nonprofit Excellence.
  • She decided to run for office because she she could not stand by and watch rights trampled for women, minorities, and the LGBTQA community, and the disintegration of education and voters’ rights. These problems are perpetruated by our current 5th District Rep. Bob Good and supported by John McGuire, Trump’s latest hand-picked Republican candidate in the 5th District.

Help Gloria’s campaign by canvassing, phoning, and donating so she can communicate with voters!
