The Charlottesville Democratic Committee
The grassroots group “Bans Off Our Bodies Cville” organized the rally, with very significant organizing support from the Cville Dems. The event was a great success despite some rainy weather, with 300-400 coming out to voice their support for abortion and reproductive rights.

Thanks to all the Cville Dems who did Voter Registration (our VR crew also did a second event at the same time!), who volunteered to help make the event happen, and who attended to show our support!
On Saturday, May 14, abortion rights supporters are holding a “Bans Off Our Bodies” rally and protest march in support of abortion access and reproductive freedom. Speakers will include our VA 5th District candidate Josh Throneburg.
We’re supporting the organizers and doing voter registration at the event.
Women’s heath and civil rights have unfortunately become become partisan issues, so Dems need to show up and join the groundswell against concerted Republican efforts (at every level of government) to drag America back to the 1950s (or the 1350s as Justice Alito would prefer).
Come in person (Jefferson School, requires masks and proof of vaccination) or stream it, but please come hear our 5th District Candidate Josh Throneburg’s policy priorities and get your questions answered! Co-hosted by Charlottesville & Albemarle Dems, our co-chair Dashad Cooper will be moderating.
