We Need Canvassers!

Canvassers leave the Coordinated Campaign office with names and literature:

  • Every Saturday: 10 am, 1pm, and 4pm
  • Every Sunday 1pm and 4pm

Please pick up canvassing sheets with names and addresses and campaign literature at the office:

We’re using the space for canvassing and other activities related to electing on November 5:

  1. Gloria Witt for the Fifth District congressional seat now occupied by Bob Good (Good lost the Republican primary to another MAGA extremist more loyal to Trump than Good was)
  2. Senator Tim Kaine to retain his seat by defeating yet another Republican MAGA extremist Hung Cao (e.g. anti-abortion, pardons for January 6 insurrectionists, etc.)
  3. Kamala Harris as our first female President!!!

The Big News: Vice President Kamala Harris will be the Democratic Presidential Candidate!!

Official portrait of Vice President Kamala Harris wearing a blue blazer with an American flag in the background.Now that President Biden will not seek reelection, the Cville Dems are ready to get  behind our new nominees for President and Vice President (latter announcement coming soon), Senator Kaine, Congressional candidate Gloria Witt, and all the other Democratic candidates.

We want to say a huge thank you to President Biden. He has been one of the most successful and consequential presidents in United States history and we owe him an incredible debt of gratitude. We are a better country for having him as our 46th president!

We need to come together to to win the November elections… the Cville Dems will be working hard to make this happen, please join us!

Hung Cao at the Republican National Convention Trash Talks Senator Tim Kaine

“I’m running against Hillary’s running mate, Senator Tim Kaine. He is a weak man in a dangerous world…..Kaine is a career politician with millions to show for it. I’ve been a warrior with scars to prove it.” (per Youtube video)

The Kaine Campaign notes that Cao:

1. Is a democracy denier who has not only peddled conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, he’s pledged to release and even compensate convicted January 6th insurrectionists.

2. Opposes women’s reproductive rights, supporting legislation that would drastically and cruelly limit abortion access all across the country (and even compares abortion to the Holocaust).

3. Refuses to accept the reality of the climate crisis, saying he doesn’t think climate change is real and even called the entire concept a “boogeyman.

Our local party will also use the space for canvassing and other activities related to getting Gloria Witt elected on Nov. 5 for the Fifth District House of Representatives seat currently held by Bob Good.

Cville Dem Attend State Convention

On June 22, a full quorum of Charlottesville delegates went to Richmond to vote on resolutions and vote for national electors and state delegates to the Democratic National Convention that will begin in Chicago on Aug. 19.

It was a rousing day full of democratic visions and determination to elect Democrats straight down the line in November. VA05 candidate Gloria Witt and many others attended. A humorous and vibrant State Speaker of the House Don Scott chaired the day’s proceedings.

Mexican dancers in traditional costumes - women in green floral skirts men in white waving bandannas or hats to the audience.On Monday, June 24, we’ll have our next Full Committee meeting at 6:30pm at one of the shelters in Forest Hills Park.

In addition to talking about our activities for the upcoming election, we’ll have representatives from Sin Barreras, an advocacy organization which works with the Latino Community. AND we will serve Mexican popsicles from La Flor Michoacana, which is a good reason to come in itself!
