Internal Cville Dems
Frances Summers is Our First Summer/Fall Intern
Frances Summers is studying Foreign Affairs, as a rising first year in a 4+1 graduate program at UVA’s Batten School. She’s dedicated to learning more about community organizing, youth engagement in politics, and women in politics. Frances has interned for USAID’s Public Affairs Bureau, Berger-Hirschberg Strategies, and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Historical Society. After graduating from The University of Virginia, she hopes to pursue a career in the U.S. Foreign Service.
We’ll announce new interns as they join our efforts this election season. Thank you for your generous contributions and support that made this year’s internship program possible.
Now Hiring 2024 Summer and/or Fall Paid Interns
The Charlottesville Democratic Committee is offering political internships in the months leading up to the November ‘24 election. This program will provide Interns with a meaningful political experience while greatly benefiting the work of Cville Dems. The stipend will be $150/week for a minimum of 10 hours/week.
There are 3 main Internship focuses: digital communications, field work, and youth engagement.
If you’re interested, or know people who may be, please contact Josh Throneburg (joshuathroneburg@gmail.com) or Nancy Damon (nancycdamon@gmail.com).
Cville Dems have Registered Over 100 New Voters in Three Months!
A big thanks you to our state delegate Katrina Callsen, as well as to Jason Melendez and Roy Carter, for registering voters at the Juneteenth Celebration last Saturday!
If you’d like to help with this important effort to increase the Democratic voting potential in Cville, please contact Suzanne Michels at suzemichels@gmail.com.
Congratulations, Cville Dems – You Met the Mark!
Thank you everyone who planned, participated in, supported, and/or attended our Summer Bash!
The third annual Summer Bash brought Cville Dems over its desired fundraising goal of $20,000 by about $2,000 – and perhaps as much as $4,000 once the Silent Auction proceeds are tallied.
Our “Love Vote” T-shirts (pictured below and designed by Kate Damon of DC SparkleSquad) are still on sale for $25, with $10 from each sale going to us to help fund our campaign work and hiring interns (various duties to support the campaigns, canvasses, and all our other volunteer efforts in this critical election year!).
If you’d still like to participate in some of the auction fun, there’s space for you at movie nights at the home of Fred and Nancy Damon; contact Nancy at nancycdamon@gmail.com.
